Having a place to hang out and do fun activities with friends and family is very important to many Americans. Iverson Park is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family during all seasons.

Iverson Park is located at 4201 US Highway 10 in Stevens Point. Iverson Park is one of the oldest parks that is located in Stevens Point. The Green Circle Trail even passes through Iverson.

Iverson has a lot to offer. They have a baseball diamond, the playground, sledding hills and a toboggan slide, an ice skating rink, and the beach with a rope swing. Iverson even includes a bike shop located within the area so that bikes may be rented along with canoes and more.

The different seasons affect the activities that are available at Iverson Park. During the winter season, there is sledding and snowboarding, ice skating, and Iverson even has a toboggan slide but that has a price tag on it. The winter sports area is open every weekend Friday through Sunday if the weather permits. Iverson’s winter sports area will be closed if the temperature or wind chills become colder than negative 15 degrees. Friday’s hours are 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

In summer there is swimming and playing at the beach, walking the Green Circle Trail, Jumping into the water off the bridge or with the rope swing, playing on the playground, having picnics, and so much more.

Iverson is also the perfect spot to get together with friends and family to have a picnic. Throughout the park, there are tables and grills for families to enjoy each other’s company. The children can go off and play on the playground or friends and families can do other things together such as playing catch.

“Iverson is a great place to enjoy nature and hang out with friends,” SPASH junior Julia Lang said.

Many teenagers enjoy coming to Iverson to hang out with their friends and love being able to swim at the beach. Being surrounded by nature with the warm golden sand and the cool refreshing water makes everyone feel good. Teenagers especially love that they are able to jump into the water off of the little bridge and even use the rope swing to jump into the water.

There is an activity there for everyone. The Green Circle Trail passes through Iverson and that is perfect for walking or biking if friends and family want to soak up some sun but don’t want to swim.

If you are looking for a great place outdoors to have a fun time with friends and family no matter what season it is, check out Iverson Park.
