She Helped Her Friend Meet The World. Now She’s On The Verge Of Ruling It

Sabrina Carpenter steps off the Disney Channel and onto the stage with Taylor Swift

As many of you may know, starting in 2014, Sabrina Carpenter became a star on Disney
Channel while co-starring in the premiere of Girl Meets World. Her acting debut came in 2010 as
a guest on NBCs drama Law & Order, and continued with her co-starring in the sequel to Boy
Meets World. While pursuing acting, Sabrina slowly implemented singing into her career on the
side. In July of 2022 she released even more music and dropped her 5th studio album named
emails i can’t send [sic], bringing her squarely into the public’s eye. This album quite literally
poured Sabrina billions of views into 2023 while simultaneously reaching #23 on the Billboard
200, allowing her to be named Variety magazine’s “Rising Star of 2023” and headline her biggest
sold-out tour yet.
This led to Sabrina joining Taylor Swift’s widely known Eras tour around the world as an
opening act followed by Paramore, Haim, Phoebe Bridgers, MUNA, Gayle, Gracie Abrams,
beabadoobee, girl in red, and OWENN. This amazing woman had gone from being a die-hard
Taylor fan, posting a cover of “Picture to Burn” on YouTube at just 9 years old, to singing on the
very same stage as Taylor herself. On November 17th, 2023, Sabrina launched a hit EP just in
time for the Christmas spirit called fruitcake [sic], boosting her popularity even more.
Overall, this year has been nothing short of life changing for Sabrina, leaving it all “hard
to grasp” as she mentioned in an interview at the Grammys. Earning multiple gold and platinum
certifications as well as performing 80 completely sold out shows globally at just 24 years old is
just a glimpse into how 2023 went in terms of her career. When talking to Variety she expressed
her gratitude for all that has come of her tour. ‘“I never would have expected that going on a tour
would have amplified the songs the way that it did,” she says. “And I just feel lucky that people
have found them in different places and now see them in different lights. I’m just as astounded as
anyone else.”’ The CEO of Universal Music Publishing group Jody Gerson has over three
decades of experience in identifying and developing talent. This wonderful woman has the
pleasure of getting to work with Sabrina and described her as a “next generation artist” with her
artistic ability to translate emotions and experiences into impactful lyrics with ease. Seeing what
Sabrina has done in the past year leaves everyone in anticipation of what she will bring us in the
year to come.
