On Nov. 17, the Association of Downtown Businesses will be hosing the annual Stevens Point Holiday Parade.

Starting in 1989, the parade includes the Stevens Point Fire and EMS, Stevens Point Police Department. The Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) band. They even have Santa Claus. The parade also features local businesses and local radio stations.

The Association of Downtown Businesses, consisting of 42 shops including Polito’s Pizza and Divepoint Scuba and Adventure Center, will come together to organize the numbers and the items that will be in the parade. They are responsible for planning the parade and acquiring funding needed to feature the Police and Fire departments along with the small businesses in the parade.

To start off the parade, Mayor Mike Wiza thanks all the volunteers and businesses that put in work to make such a great event possible. Following Mayor Wiza, the Stevens Point Police Department and Fire Department will proceed down the parade route followed by the rest of the “floats” for the small businesses and other programs around the Stevens Point area.
