Ready to run?

The annual Tiger Trek will be held May 18 at Washington Elementary School. Registration information can be found at  www.pointschools.net/washington.

There are two runs that individuals of all ages can participate in: a 5K run/walk begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and a one-mile fun run that begins at 10:15 a.m.

The Tiger Trek was created by the physical education teacher over a decade ago and is a tradition for the elementary school.  The preparations for the students are as exciting as the race day itself. Students make the medals in their art classes and create a grade competition to register the most students.

Along with the runs, a silent auction is held in the school with a wide variety of baskets. Refreshments and food are also available.

The school is always filled with people that day, some using the races as their training, others with strollers pushing their children. The atmosphere is always uplifting, no matter what the outcome of the race.
