Sam Landis, Writer
My name is Samuel Landis. I am a senior at Stevens Point Area Senior High School. I enjoy doing sports like cross-country and tennis. These sports have taught me to be grateful for the ability to work out. Having the ability to give a sport everything you have is truly a blessing. My fastest cross-country race (5K) is 21 minutes, not bad for my first season. I plan to go to a tech college for firefighting, with plans to become EMT certified as well. I was born in the small Borough of Bally in Pennsylvania. I moved to Wisconsin when I was around six years old. I enjoy board games like Risk, Chess, and Monopoly. I enjoy hanging out with fiends whether that be golfing, Friday night poker, or Thursday evening run. I enjoy being in the outdoors, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and running in nature. Another thing I enjoy is automobiles, whether it be cool-sounding diesel exhausts or 2000-horses screaming through a mustang. I have been to 16 states and been out of the country 3 times. Those 3 places are Bolivia, Guatemala, British Virgin Islands. Being in some 3rd world countires taught me a lot. It taught me to count my blessings and be grateful for what I have. It was powerful to see what they have and how much they cherish it. Some future goals of mine are to own a motorcycle, travel to at least ten different countries, all the states, and run below a 17-minute 5k.
