SPASH is an amazing school but what makes them an even greater school is all the dances they host. Specifically PROM. Everyone needs to look their best at prom so there’s dress shopping, getting your nails done and then the hair. This is the best dance out of the three dances they host yearly. All because of the amazing music, gorgeous gowns and the amazing people.
This event invites all three grade levels Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. The dance starts promptly at 8pm and goes till 11pm. The Prom dance theme this year was Las Vegas. Lots of people wore gold and yellow to represent the theme. When you first get there you get into a line and as you get to the tables you hand over your ticket and typically find a table to set your stuff down. Once you’re in it’s all about the friends and dancing or jumping as most people do.
They played songs by many different artists such as Pittbull, Drake, Charli XCX and many more. Later on in the dance they had an Elvis Presley impersonator come and sing and dance to a few songs ( He was great!!). He stuck around for a while at the end of his performance and took pictures and chatted with everyone. I had interviewed one of my good friends Jayda Felmer after the dance. I had asked her what her favorite part was before the dance. Her response was “ dress shopping because I got to look at so many different gowns and see all the different colors.” She was not wrong, that was most people’s favorite part about prom. I had also asked her what her favorite part was during prom. She responded with “ ELVIIISSSS”. Yes you read that right this year 2026 Prom hired an Elvis Presley impersonator. He was great and he was very fun to talk to.
My last question to Felmer was what did she do after prom. Her response was “just like every kid me and my boyfriend went and got ice cream at DQ”. She was not wrong, most kids do want ice cream after the dance and you know what I can’t blame them.
Personally I thought this year’s prom was one of the best dances I’ve been to.This gave me a chance to hang out with friends that I normally don’t get to see and have fun and be crazy and outgoing. I think my favorite part of the dance was the King Cone Ice cream that they gave to each person who was at prom. They had many different flavors but I was so excited to see my favorite ice cream, the CUPCAKE KING. I loved the whole dance in the end and I give credit to the people who made it happen. This was a quick peek at the SPASH 2026 PROM as a senior at SPASH.
