SPASH boys tennis is looking to win their fourth straight confrenece title.
They have have won conference 3 straight seasons and if they win this season they will make SPASH boys tennis history.
The SPASH boys tennis team had a home meet at the SPASH tennis courts Friday, April 23, 2026. The Marshfield duel and it was Senior night. During the meet they went 6-1 in their matches, they had the best record overall and won the meet.
They nearly swept Marshfield only losing one of the matches. Marshfield is one of the better teams in the conference, so this was a very big and important win for the team.
I asked senior captain Carson Slowinski what SPASH boys tennis has meant for him over the years.
“SPASH boys tennis has showed me how athletics and sports in general is a great uniter among highschoolers–a group of people can be so different. It has showed me how far I can push myself and how I can lead a group of people. “
Sports plays such a role in shaping and teaching young people. This is a great example of how important these extracarruclar activities truly are.
This is the first season on the new courts at SPASH. The court went under renovation at the end of the ‘25 season and didnt finish until the end of the ‘25 summer. They completely removed the old courts, put in new courts, put in new nets, replaced the fencing, and even added new seating area for fans.
The courts were funded from the Stevens Points Area School Districts budget. The courts represent a significant investment for the athletes and the community infrastructure.
I also asked Slowinksi how playing on the new courts changed things for him and his game.
“The courts didn’t change a lot for the playing aspect, but we now have a few sets of bleachers making it easier for family and friends to watch us. It can be symbolic since they’re new and they are something to be grateful for as we work our way to team state.”
The SPASH boys tennis team is looking to go back to WIAA state tournament. They havent qualified for the tournament since 2014, its been over 12 years since the team has played for state.
They have eight meets left in the season, they are looking to win sectionals and make their state bid.
