Me IRL.

Carson Slowinski, Writer

Since he can’t catch fish, Carson catches vibes as he jams out to his regular disco-pop or Beyonce tunes. Carson’s youthful days consisted of watching the 7:00 AM “Good Morning America” news with his beloved Grandma June. This tradition has stuck with Carson and has recently inspired him to explore careers in journalism or news broadcasting. Whether serving face or tennis balls, Carson loves to stay active on the courts with his teammates, break a sweat “Just-Dance”-ing or go for a run. He has been active on both the Boys Cross Country Team and Boys Tennis Team for SPASH since freshman year, and has been performing in musical theater since he was 7 years old.

Carson does not have any published work yet, but is eager to write for the SPASH Mirror. If you aren’t into tennis, theater, and all that jazz, consider Carson’s work, after reading the following quote provided by Mrs. Reid. “Carson writes with a beautiful mix of thorough analysis, thoughtful word choice, and personal connections to the topics and ideas he explores.” If he’s not decked out from head to toe in a barbie-pink, he’s likely cozied up at home in his plaid pajamas, playing Minecraft with his friends, or vocalizing with some early 2000s R&B music.

With a plethora of daily interactions through school, sports, or hobbies, Carson plans to incorporate his peer’s opinions throughout his work, as he believes ideas are meant to be shared for the betterment of society. There is always someone who can teach you something you didn’t already know, which is why Carson feels the urge to connect with others and strengthen his red-headed noggin. If you–the reader–made it this far, Carson hopes that you will give his soon-to-be published work a chance, as he simply wants to improve his writing skills and discover possibilities for his future. So if Carson really does make it somewhere successful as a reporter, or news anchor, he would like to thank you for your time, and for giving his passion a chance. You’ll be the second person he calls from “Good Morning America”. That is…after he calls his Grandma June.
