Gwen O’Keefe is a 17-year-old senior at SPASH. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends. She loves going to her cabin and being on the lake as she finds it’s the place where she can best relax and focus. She enjoys writing in a wide variety of styles and about a wide variety of topics. She has taken many writing and english classes during her time at SPASH and courses such as Advance Composition has really helped her unlock more of her writing potential. Her inspiration in writing stems from various authors and stories. She loves fantasy series like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games but also enjoys non-fiction history and true crime books. Movies have a big impact on not only her writing, but her whole life. She loves simple feel-good movies such as Dazed & Confused and Grown Ups as well as more serious movies such as Beautiful Boy and Avatar. Her love for a wide variety of movies is evident in her writing as one single subject matter or writing style can not hold her down for long. Friends describe her as funny, caring, and outgoing and she likes to incorporate these variations of herself within her writing in any way possible.
