The Dubious Creature
March 1, 2022
A beast truly wretched, and vile to boot
Pokes and prods me with his strangely wet snoot.
He shocks the senses and leaves you stunned
How could an animal be this rotund?
A towering figure with fur of brown
Whose silken ears lay adown.
A “dog” they call him, though those words must sting
As he is obviously a bear-pig-cow-type-thing.
A malevolent force, one Koda Jerome
Turned my mundane house into a mental home.

Cassie, I love the rhyming-cadence of your poem, your descriptive word choices, and especially … (not surprising) the humor! 🙂 – Mrs. Zimm.
