Busy month for music students

May is the most active month for music at SPASH.

The SPASH Orchestra will perform their final concert of the year May 9. This concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the SPASH auditorium and it will showcase this year’s seniors in the orchestra and include UWSP’s Very Young Composers program.

The next event is the final choir concert. It will feature the SPASH Singers, Concert Choir, and Counterpointers. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. on May 16 at the SPASH auditorium and will feature all of the seniors involved in the choir program.

The Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble will be playing at the Piffner bandshell on the 16th and 17th respectively, both at 11:00 a.m.

Also on May 17 the SPASH Jazz Ensemble I will open for the Central Wisconsin Jazz Ensemble at the Michelsen Concert Hall in the UWSP’s Noel Fine Arts Center. The concert starts at 7:00 p.m.

The final band concert takes place on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. at SPASH’s auditorium. The program will consist of the Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Jazz II and Jazz Ensemble I, as well as the UWSP’s Very Young Composers program. It will also showcase the seniors that participate in the band program.
