The pain in my chest

just sitting there throbbing 

I wish it could just be taken out 

But it’s like there is some sort of force just holding it there

it hurts way down deep

like a metal spear

which carved its path right through my chest 

when I’m bent over the dining room table

reading the newspaper

snacking on cashews

and playing the game of sudoku 

the pane will become worse over time

you just wish you could remove that force
