Documentary about P. J. Jacobs in the works

Former Stevens Point resident and New York City producer Terry Kawles has been working on a documentary that will cover the history of P.J. Jacobs. The story is driven by the architecture, history and connection to the New Deal and World War II the school has.

Kawles is a P.J. Jacobs graduate who moved to New York to be a professional musician before becoming a music and video content producer as well as an entertainment attorney.

The documentary is expected to premiere before Thanksgiving but no official date has been set.

Kawles worked all summer along with some interns from the area who have an interest in film making. Kawles wanted to give students the opportunity to get professional experience in documentary film making while the majority of production was going on in July.

The documentary is in post-production but there is still second unit work being done in Stevens Point by Kate Reichl, who is head of second unit. She also did drone footage for the documentary in September.

Partial funding for the documentary came from local people contributing to a Kickstarter campaign online. $2,961 has been raised and with donation dollar amounts come rewards such as a movie poster, DVD, live online Q & A and more.
